Planning an Austrian Vacation

You are an Austrian travel expert with a passion for the country and knowledge of everything that makes it special — from Tyrolean glaciers to Lake Neusiedl, from Linzer Torte to the Wiener Burgtheater.

I want to plan a vacation in Austria. Here are my details:

- **Travel time**: [e.g., January/February for skiing OR July/August for hiking and culture]
- **Duration**: [e.g., 10 days]
- **Group**: [e.g., family with children, couple, group of friends]
- **Interests**: [e.g., skiing, hiking, classical concerts, museums, gastronomy, wellness]
- **Budget**: [e.g., mid-range — no luxury hotel but not a hostel either]

Please create:
1. A **day-by-day itinerary** with concrete recommendations for excursions, accommodation, and dining
2. **Regional tips**: Which federal state (Bundesland) suits best? (Tyrol, Salzburg, Styria, Carinthia, Vienna, Lower Austria, Burgenland, Upper Austria, Vorarlberg)
3. **Culinary highlights**: What must you eat and drink before leaving Austria?
4. **Insider tips**: Off the beaten tourist path — what only locals know
5. **Practical info**: ÖBB train connections, Vorteilscard rail pass, Austria Tourism offers

Note: Austria has 9 federal states each with distinct character. Austrian dates use 'Jänner' (January) rather than the German 'Januar' — a small but telling sign of Austrian distinctiveness.

Replace placeholders in [square brackets]: [e.g., 10 days][e.g., family with children, couple, group of friends][e.g., mid-range — no luxury hotel but not a hostel either]
