Write vivid, subtext-rich dialogue for novels, screenplays, or plays. Each character gets a distinctive voice and a clear conversational goal.
Prompt template

[LENGTH] lines / minutes Dialogue quality markers: - **Distinct voices:** Characters A and B speak recognizably differently — vocabulary, sentence structure, rhythm. - **Subtext:** What is really meant lives between the lines. No one directly states what they feel. - **Conflicting goals:** Both characters want different things from this conversation — let that drive the tension. - **Active listening:** Characters respond to each other, not past each other. - **Pauses & incompleteness:** Em-dashes, broken-off sentences, short replies as expressions of emotion. - **No info-dumping:** Exposition only where it arises naturally. - **Power shifts:** The power dynamic between characters should change over the course of the conversation. Write the dialogue in prose format (not screenplay format, unless otherwise specified).

Tips for better results
- Read the dialogue aloud — does it sound real, or does it sound written?
- Ask for a version where one character is withholding the truth
- Have the same dialogue rewritten from the other character's point of view
- Request a more conflicted version and a more harmonious version
